# Direct - User Registration

Create a new user from your backend by submitting profile data (name, email, mobile, password). Returns the user's UUID, which is used to mint preauth tokens for the widget or your client app.
**Authentication.** Direct API host token (Bearer JWT obtained from `POST /direct/login`).
**After registration.** The user is provisioned but **not yet identity-verified**. They must complete one of the identity flows (Prefill + Onboarding, Digital Identity Trust + Secure Multi-Factor Authentication, or Digital Identity Trust + Customer OTP) before any credit-data endpoint will return data.
**Dormant users.** If dormant enrollment is enabled for your account, pass `"dormant": true` to create the user without activating any monitoring features. The user still completes identity verification normally; features are turned on later via `POST /users/activate-features`.
