# Two queues

## Two queues
Both queues are driven by batch endpoints under [Direct - Profile Management](/client-spec/direct-profile-management) — see that section for the full request/response shapes.
**Enrollment Queue** — handles **pause** and **resume** batches.
Triggered by:
- `POST /direct/users/pause-enrollments` — pause many users.
- `POST /direct/users/resume-enrollments` — resume many users.

Per-user statuses move through: **PENDING → PROCESSING → PAUSED / RESUMED / FAILED**. When a user is paused, credit monitoring is suspended (no alerts, no refreshes) but their data is preserved so you can resume them later.
**Unenrollment Queue** — handles **account closure** batches and any single-user close that fails mid-way.
Triggered by:
- `POST /direct/close-accounts` — close many users.
- `POST /direct/close-account/{id}` — single close (only enters the queue if the synchronous attempt fails partway through, marked **SINGLEFAILED** for automatic retry).

Per-user statuses move through: **PENDING → PROCESSING → CLOSED / FAILED / SINGLEFAILED**. After **3 failed attempts** the entry stays as `FAILED` and is no longer retried — surface it through the portal and follow up manually.
